Bethanien-church
For the first time, Anshe Chung takes a holding (invests) in a "real" project - the Bethanienturm in Berlin. The Bethanienturm is the remains of the former Bethanien-church that was inaugurated in 1902 by the German Emperor Wilhelm II. and his wife Auguste Viktoria. During one of the last bombings in World War II, the neogothic church was hit by an aerial mine. Thereby, the nave had been completely destroyed, only the church tower survived the bombing. Since then, the site has never been used again even though the tower with its historic charm offers a unique atmosphere and a great view over the roof tops of Berlin. The 1.600 sqm site with an old tree population provides enough space for new ideas and developments. In cooperation with the architect Milan Pitlach from Shanghai, the Berlin planufaktur GmbH has developed an architectural concept for the revitalisation of the Bethanienturm. The representative design adds a modern four-storey structure to the historic tower and creates versatile, impressive spaces with interesting views. By the combination of old charm and new architecture, the locations becomes unique. In SL has been realised what so far exists on paper only: the historic tower was rebuilt true to original and supplemented by the planned new structure. The entire project TowerVisions Bethanienturm can be purchased and realised in first life in Berlin!
